Building Your Home Apothecary: A Four Part Introduction to Seasonal Herbal Medicine
£275.00
Join me for four Saturdays across the seasons to learn how to identify, harvest and incorporate both wild and common cultivated herbs into your day to day life for good health throughout the year. Home herbalism was once a very normalised way of caring for ones family, utilising both preventative and curative herbal treatments for a variety of common ailments. From hedgerow weeds to kitchen herbs you probably already have, this course will cover about thirty common plants and their applications, and over a dozen different medicinal herbal preparations from teas and tinctures to liniments and lozenges.
In each class we'll learn about a handful of seasonal plants, a group of herbal actions and what they mean, and prepare a variety of medicines. By the end of the year, you will have built your own home apothecary, and have the confidence to choose herbs as medicine to support your health in a variety of different circumstances. Registration is for all four sessions; these are not individual workshops.
Classes will meet at the Fifield Road Apothecary studio at Home Farm Yard, Bruern, OX7 6QE. Each class will include tea and coffee and a light lunch, and will run from 10 am until 2 pm.
DATES ARE:
SPRING: Saturday 26 April
SUMMER PART I: Saturday 14 June
SUMMER PART II: Saturday 5 July
AUTUMN: Saturday 18 October
Price for all four workshops is £275 per person. Early bird price of £250 if registering by March 1. Use the code EARLYBIRD for discount.
